Singing

Tip 83: Use Solfege to Improve Your Ears

Solfege is a technique of singing scale degrees by assigning them specific syllables: Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, and Do.

To many people it’s just a scene from ‘The Sound of Music’ – but secretly it’s a powerful method for any musician’s toolkit!

It takes some diligence to actually apply, but the connection your brain develops between the scale degrees and their syllables can really solidify your recognition of them and boost your relative pitch ability.
