Tip 96: Perfect Pitch vs. Relative Pitch

A person with ‘perfect pitch’ is able to name any note just by hearing it. People with perfect pitch are rare, and it’s a very difficult skill to learn.

However, many musicians have ‘relative pitch’ which means they can tell you the pitch of a second note, if they know the pitch of the first. This is a very useful skill which you can easily develop over time!
